Oakland Tin is a boutique portrait studio based in East Oakland, California, in the Cotton Mill Studios, a historic building erected in 1917. Tintype is a slower form of photography, predating even film, debuting in 1851. The images produced by the tintype process are individual and unique. Produced entirely in camera, they are one-of-a-kind direct positives. They are the most archival and long-lasting of any photographic process, creating artifacts that will be passed down from generation to generation. Best suited to individual portraits and couples, you’ll see and experience the complete hands on process from start to finish. Serving the greater San Francisco Bay Area.
